Die ESP-Funktion Load Adaptive Control (LAC) von Bosch berechnet das Gesamtgewicht des Fahrzeuges sowie den aktuellen Ladeschwerpunkt, um die Fahrdynamikregelung individuell darauf anzupassen und die Gefahr des Umkippens zu verringern.Speziell bei leichten Nutzfahrzeugen wie Transportern und Pick-Up-Trucks hat die Zuladung bedeutende Auswirkung auf die Stabilität des Fahrzeugs. ESP mit LAC erfasst Fahrzeugdaten, wie Radgeschwindigkeiten, Motorleistung und andere fahrdynamischen Signale. Aus diesen Parametern kann das LAC die Masse und den Schwerpunkt des Fahrzeugs berechnen und die ESP-Eingriffe dem aktuellen Zustand anpassen.
