Con esta motorización, la única gasolina que ofrece el nuevo Auris,
Toyota  estrena su segunda unidad con turbocompresor. Estamos
ante la serie de los nuevos motores de la nipona que mejoran la
eficiencia térmica y el gasto de combustible.
Se trata de un motor turbo con inyección directa.  Supone
la culminación del desarrollo de motores convencionales por parte
de la marca nipona, que ofrece avances sustanciales en tecnologías
de combustión y de reducción de pérdidas. Sus 116 CV ofrecen
un rendimiento y
Combina un turbocompresor de entrada única con una culata del
cilindro que emplea un colector de escape integrado refrigerado por
agua, para optimizar la temperatura de escape. Así, se consigue
una admisión adaptable que no se ve afectada por la carga térmica
del motor. ¿El resultado? Una gran respuesta en aceleración y
un par máximo en un amplio intervalo de revoluciones.
Toyota ha mejorado tambiénla velocidad de la combustión con este
motor, creando remolino de rotación vertical en el interior del
cilindro. Esto da lugar a una mezcla ideal de aire y carburante.
Por otra parte, el reglaje variable continuo de la válvula de
admisión permite que el motor funcione en ciclo
Atkinson3 ajustando el reglaje de la válvula en función de la
carga. Estas mejoras se combinan para producir una eficiencia
térmica máxima del 36%.
A pesar de su debilidad por los híbridos, Toyota es consciente de
que los vehículos con motores convencionales siguen
representando la mayor parte de las ventas.

The Passo's fuel efficiency of 27.6 km/L represents an improvement of approximately 30 percent over the previous design and exceeds the fuel efficiency standards for 2015 set by the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) by 20 percent. Additionally, with CO2 emissions of 84 g/km, the Passo now achieves emissions levels 75 percent lower than the 2005 standards established under MLIT's Approval System for Low-Emission Vehicles, making it eligible for full tax reductions under the Japanese government's tax incentive program. Thanks to their improved fuel efficiency, the four-wheel drive models are also eligible for tax reductions.

Toyota will exhibit a booth dedicated exclusively to the "Camatte", a customizable, sporty, family-oriented concept, at the International Tokyo Toy Show 2014 (from June 12 to 15 at Tokyo Big Sight in Koto Ward).

The Camatte concept, which was originally shown at the 2012 International Tokyo Toy Show, conveys the appeal of cars to current and future drivers alike by enabling parents and children to share the joy of driving and customizing.
Toyota's booth, called the Camatte Lab, is divided into two zones: a Tech Lab that lets visitors get an up-close look at the inner workings of the car, and a hands-on Design Lab that allows visitors to easily customize a Camatte.

Tech Lab:
A "Camatte57s"3 will be displayed without its body panels, to allow viewing of the steering gear and differential gear box. Visitors can easily see the internal parts moving when the steering wheel and accelerator are operated, making it easy to understand how these parts work.

Design Lab:

Developed by Toyota’s Calty Design Research in Newport Beach, California, the Toyota U2concept features a new open architecture and purposeful materials that redefine urban utility. Designers included the ability to roll back the roof, fold down the tailgate into a ramp and customize the interior on a versatile railsystem. The concept car will make its first public appearance at World Maker Faire in New York City on Sept. 20 and 21.

Among the U.S. trends that influenced the Calty design team were a growth in entrepreneurship and Americans’ love of adventure, especially outdoor activities involving gear andequipment. Drawing on these insights, the Toyota U2 concept is a flexible, functional gadget that owners can customize according to individual, on-the-go needs. The retractable utility bar can serve unique uses, such as holding a desk or grocery bag hooks. Side windows flip up for easy access fromroadside.

City streets call for a vehicle that can handle bumper-to-bumper traffic, potholes and tight corners. The Toyota U2 concept has an extremely durable underbody and tool-like exterior with a customizable side panel. The iconic, modern design remains playful, with details such as circular door handles and a slightly chunky proportion. The box-like design at the rear emphasizes the storage capabilities.

The Toyota C-HR Concept introduces an expressive new, diamond architecture styling theme to the segment. Below a compact, sensual cabin profile, the lower bodywork has been sculpted to represent the facetted surfaces of a highly-durable, precision-cut gemstone.

In plan form, the corners of the bodyshell have been cleanly shaved off. This both removes mass from the overall volume, and emphasises the powerful flair of the front and rear wheel arches, reinforcing the new crossover’s broad, planted stance from every viewpoint.

The front of the C-HR Concept not only represents a further development of Toyota’s Under Priority and Keen Look design identity, but also introduces new styling themes which hint at a future design direction for Toyota vehicles.

Above a robust central bumper profile, the slim upper grille associated with Under Priority design has been evolved into a floating ‘wing’ graphic which flows seamlessly around the front corners of the vehicle to the front fender apexes. Within the wing, vigorous headlamp detailing incorporates a high-tech, 3D treatment of the distinctive Daytime Running Lights (DRL).

Adding emphasis to the vehicle corners to further reinforce the new crossover’s solid stance, the large lower grille is flanked by strongly sculpted downward projections. These powerful frontal elements are underscored by an aero-inspired,floating front spoiler.

The evolution of the Keen Look design is expressed through the Under Priority design with enhanced 3-dimensional structure and headlamps, making the whole front centre of gravity low whilst reinforcing it’s good stance.

From the side, the highly-facetted lower body, muscular wheel arches and aggressively angular rear shoulder are juxtaposed with an exceptionally sleek cabin profile.

The glasshouse is emphasized by the sweeping, uninterrupted extension of the side glazing into the rear screen. This creates a slim, floating, spoiler-tipped roofline the length of which is exaggerated by residual C-pillars which taper into needle points either side of the rear screen.

The floating roof is detailed with patterned openings which create a uniquely animated play of light within the C-HR Concept’s cabin space.

Seen from the rear, the dramatically tapering glasshouse emphasises the cross-over’s wide shoulders and planted stance. Once again shaped in the manner of a facetted gemstone, the vehicle rear shares the front bodywork’s corner detailing. Highly-distinctive, aero-inspired, floating rear lamp clusters further enhance the broad shoulders of the C-HR Concept’s muscular lower bodywork.

A unique wheel design reinforces the vehicle’s crossover credentials, the blade design of the spokes hinting at the sophistication and efficiency of the C-HR Concept’s full hybrid powertrain.

2015 Toyota Sleeper Camry

In drag racing terms, a“sleeper” is a car that looks as innocuous as possible, but has the means to blow the doors off the competition. The attendees at this year’s Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show were shocked when emcee Rutledge Wood lifted the Sleeper Camry’s body to reveal a purpose-built dragster putting out over 850 horsepower.

The build team extracted the outer shell of the all-new 2015 Camry and mated it to a full tube-frame chassis. Underneath the stylish Camry skin, it’s all about brute force, rugged durability and raw speed. A Tundra was tapped for its 5.7-liter 3UR-FE V8 engine, transmission, rear axle and electronics. The engine is blown with a TRD supercharger and also features a wet nitrous system. Directing the power to the asphalt are beefy DOT 335/30/18 drag racing tires which are expected to help propel the Sleeper Camry to a blistering 9.80-second* quarter-miletime. It’s hard to believe that the build was completed in just 11 weeks. The attention to detail and craftsmanship is evident throughout the dragster — from the fully functional stock doors to the custom-fabricated interior.

The Sleeper Camry can be seen November 4-7 in the Toyota display booth (#24700) located in the Central Hall at the 2014 SEMA Show. After the SEMA Show it will tour the country at select NHRA races.
